Step
1: Measure rail opening. Cut 2x4's (or 5/4" boards) rails to length.
Attach outside top and bottom rails to the post. See Diagram at Step
6.
When
balusters are used for high level decking please check the required
heights with your Building Inspector. This is a U.S. product and their
regulations may be different to UK ones.
Note:
Scenic balusters are installed by sandwiching them in between rail
boards. Typically sandwiching 2x4s work better with 6"x6" post and
5/4" boards works better with 4"x4" post. For Various Rail to Post
configuration, see Diagram at Step 6. For composite rails, use diagram
"A" (face mount the inside face rail on the inside of post). Check
with local code officials for appropriate fasteners for the Railing
to Post attachment. Six foot (6') is the maximum recommended span
for railings.
