The DEVON Range of Glass Balustrades with Wooden Posts
Glass Balustrades can be simply fixed to wooden newel posts by using our rust free powder coated aluminium top and bottom rail Glass Channels. The Glass Channels, in white or black, come in two standard lengths of 1.2m and 1.5m. The channels are suitable for either 8m or 10m toughened glass. Our DEVON Balustrades are easy to assemble. We only supply glass and channels to level decking.

Assembly Instructions for Devon Glass Balustrades
1. Erect Newel Posts.
2. Measure distance between Newel Posts. This is the 'Channel length'.
3. Deduct 6cm off the Channel length to obtain the 'Glass width'. (The glass width is slightly shorter than the Channel length to allow space for the connectors.)
4. The Channels are supplied in 2 standard lengths of either 1.2 metres or 1.5 metres. We are able to cut these to your required length or you can do this yourself. If a 1.5 metre Channel is used you will need a support for the Channel. (The height of this support can be adjusted to between 75mm and 100mm.)

WOODEN POSTS and HANDRAIL
We do not supply wooden posts or handrails. These are easily available from your local DIY store or timber outlet.
5. Push the top and bottom Channels into the Connectors so that the Channels are flush with the back of the Connectors, and the flat sides of the Connectors are placed along the flat solid part of the Channels.
6. For added security a pilot hole can be drilled through the flat section of the Connectors and Channels, and be secured with 10mm stainless steel self tapping screw (supplied).
7. The bottom Channel plus Connector unit is screwed to the newel posts using 50mm stainless steel screws (supplied), and if a support is being used this is placed beneath the bottom Channel. The stainless steel self tapping screw (supplied) secures the support.
8. The glass is inserted and the top Channel screwed to the newel post. If 10m glass is used, then spray the rubber inserts with a silicone spray to allow the glass to be easily inserted in the rubber.
9. The handrail is then fixed to the newel posts. Depending on the type of handrail used, it may be necessary to fix the handrail before adding the Channels.
CARRIAGE
Free carriage on channels on UK mainland sales (ex Scottish Highlands) over £75. £7 + VAT on orders The actual carriage charge will depend on total glass weight, location, etc..
